Dr. Nora Steadman grew up in Great Falls, Virginia and first made her journey down to Richmond in 2009 where she completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. While at VCU, Dr. Steadman was the president of the VCU Dental Club and organized visits to group homes and family shelters around the greater Richmond area to teach children and their parents about the importance of oral health. It was very early in her career that she realized she had a passion for public health and educating the community about the need for preventive care.
Dr. Steadman graduated from the VCU Honor’s College Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. After completing her undergraduate degree, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry. While she was in dental school she served as social chair of her class and was a member of both the Hispanic Dental Society and Psi Omega Fraternity. She is also an active participant in the Missions for Mercy Projects, having attended over ten in her career so far, and volunteered on a weeklong mission trip to underserved areas of Jamaica during her senior year of dental school.
After graduation, she completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veteran’s Hospital where she received thorough training on hospital-based comprehensive dentistry and working with medically complex patients, special needs patients, and children in an OR setting. She is currently a member of the Richmond Dental Society, the Virginia Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Steadman enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Peanut. She met her husband Grant while they were in dental school, and together they enjoy biking the trails around Richmond as well as kayaking, paddle boarding, and tubing the James River. She is passionate about traveling and immersing herself in different cultures, as well as enjoying the different types of food. Above all, she is honored to start her career alongside Dr. Holly Lewis at Sparkle Pediatric Dentistry.
