Dr. Lewis is known for both her friendly personality and clinical excellence. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Lewis is also a former Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University and has served as the President of the Virginia Society of Pediatric Dentistry. She has been recognized by Richmond Magazine as one of the area's “Top Dentists” in pediatric dentistry and by Our Health Magazine for having “Best Bedside Manner”. She loves bringing smiles to children!
Dr. Lewis served as President of the Virginia Society of Pediatric Dentistry from 2008-2010 and Secretary from 2007-2008. She is currently serving as the Virginia state director of the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, serves on the board of Pediatric Dentistry advisors at VCU, and serves as a delegate for the Virginia Dental Association. In 2017, she was nominated and inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an honorary dental service organization. Dr. Lewis is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Virginia Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Richmond Association of Women Dentists, American Association of Women Dentists, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Lewis was born in McComb, MS, and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mississippi. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry and a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Lewis earned the Eleanor Bushee American Association of Women Dentists Award, the Water Pik Prosthodontic Award, the Organization of Teachers of Oral Diagnosis Award, and the Quintessence Publishing Company Clinical Achievement in Periodontics Award.
Dr. Lewis completed her pediatric dentistry residency and earned a Master's of Science degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. She then worked at VCU an Instructor from 2005-2006 and an Assistant Professor from 2006-2008 in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at VCU. In 2005, she won the ADEA “Professor of the Month” award, and in 2007, she was presented with the “Best Specialty Faculty” award. Prior to founding Pediatric Dentistry of Virginia, Dr. Lewis practiced as a pediatric dentist at Dentistry for Children and at Children's Hospital in Richmond.
Dr. Lewis is married to Ben Lewis and has two daughters, Madison and Lexi, a son, “Benji”, and two step-children, Ivan and Acadia. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
